... a youth ministry with a purpose!
More than ever before, teenagers growing up in the world today are faced
with the reality of broken homes, broken schools, and subsequently, broken
lives. Without the proper guidance, love and encouragement, these young
people can fall prey to attitudes and behaviors which can ruin their lives. |

This program is designed in order
to teach young people about the One who can repair and redeem their broken
lives through knowing His Son Jesus Christ!
THE PURPOSE OF TEEN DISCOVERY MEETINGS:
- To provide opportunities for teens to enjoy Christian fellowship.
- To discuss biblical solutions to problems encountered in
daily social relationships.
- To encourage the formation of support groups among teenagers
to counteract the negative affects of worldly peer pressure.
- To encourage teens to adapt an evangelistic attitude toward
their friends and acquaintances.
THE TYPICAL DISCOVERY MEETING:
Countdown: Sign-In and Prepare for Activity
Mission Control & Blast-off: Subject Introduced
and Activity
Exploration & Mission Completed: Lesson Wrap-up
Touchdown: Flight Time and Fellowship
SPECIAL EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES:
The 3rd Friday of each month a teen night will
be held. Times and places will be announced at
weekly Discovery meetings. Medical release forms must be on file for each person
attending any outing.
ACHIEVEMENTS AND AWARDS:
- Individual achievement at the Local Level:
Each member who earns 150,000 or more points during the semester.
- Individual achievement at the Regional Level:
Each member who earns 175,000 or more points during the semester.
- Individual achievement at the National Level:
Each member whose combined score for fall and spring semesters is 400,000
or more points.
